Each rug is in an edition of 9.  Each of the nine can be (just about) any size you want.  There are many other designs to choose from.

My husband, Allan Greenberg, and I  redesigned our Manhattan apartment around my new Art rug collection.  each rug is a translation of a painting. The living room rug is Decisive which hangs on the wall to the right.  Just as artists collaborate with master print makers - at Gemini G.E.L.or crown point press, for example - I collaborated with Barbara barran, founder of Classic Rug Collection.  SPECS: 7’6” x 9’ Multi-level 100% hand-tufted New Zealand wool. Made in Thailand. All cut pile. 10mm 16 mm pile height. Pencil carving.

You can see the "Pencil Carving" between the color blocks, which echoes the finely-carved line I etch between the shapes in the paintings.  The palette is so precise because I chose the colors from a vast "palette" of wool and silk tufts. These exact "poms" were sent to the rug makers in Thailand and Tibet.  There was no scan or digital file to approximate thousands of miles away.  You can see the raised pile square toward the top of the image, which echoes the raised panel on the painting.

This 4x4 foot rug is a translation of the painting named crag.  Barbara has rug makers all over the world. She sent the wool ones to thailand and the silk one to tibet, since I wanted the best. specs:  hand-tufted New Zealand wool and natural silk, Made in Thailand, Cut pile with pencil carving.  The quadriptych on the four flush closet doors is a site-specific work called Going Green, Fine paints of Europe house paint, 72x72 inches, 2008.  The maquette for this work is on the bottom shelf.

The new white kitchen is a perfect foil for all the art in the apartment.  As do the mies van der rohe brno chairs and Allan's curved shelves.

This rug is a translation of one of my many shaped paintings.  It too has a raised panel.  Specs: SQUARE WITHIN A SQUARE, Size 5 x 5 feet, “Multi-level” 100% hand-tufted New Zealand wool. Made in Thailand. All cut pile. 10mm and 16mm pile height. Pencil carving. painting on the right, ART DECO, oil on panels,  16x14 inches, 2015; painting on far wall, Nowhere to Hide, oil on gessoed rag board, 3x3 inches, matted under glass, 1991.

specs: THE ART OF DROPPING EVERYTHING, 4 x 7 feet, 300 knot pure silk, hand-knotted in Nepal. several of my oil paintings on panel occupy the glorious curved shelves allan designed.

You can see how the silk rug in particular changes dramatically in different light.  It is based on a small matted oil painting less than 4x7 inches.

Allan designed the wrought stainless steel headboard, which juxtaposes well against the apple green checkerboard.  Periodically, we hang paintings at an angle to go with the flow.

the paintings sing on the red-walled solarium.  on the left, MUSICOLOGY, oil on canvas, 24x27 inches, 2011; On the right, PLAID, oil on panel,  8x8 inches, 2008. On the flat file are samples of each of the rugs, with cut pile and pencil carving.
